The Alano Club of El Cajon, Board of Directors to better inform the members and meeting attendees of our club, have committed to meet weekly through the pandemic to do everything we can to ensure the this facility will be there to help those we serve in the future as it has for over 40 years these minutes are being posted to keep you up to date as well to let you see where you can fit in to be of service to save our club in the save way the club saved us.. Alano Club BOD Chairman's Update June 2020 As most of you are aware the club officially re-opened on June 13th for the 10am Saturday morning meeting. Due to the Coronavirus, we had to put several new procedures in place in order to provide safety for both members and volunteer staff. The short list includes, mask wearing, social distancing, entering and exiting from different doors, and the use of hand sanitizer. During the shutdown the club was able to solicit enough donations to pay most of the operating costs and all of the monthly mortgage interest. Over the last 3 months I convened a Coronavirus Committee who meet on a weekly basis to help navigate us through this critical time. All committee members did an excellent job of raising money, getting some public recognition, membership awareness, and building a true sense of community. My hat is off to all the committee members, club members and non-members for going way beyond expectations to insure the club's solvency. What can you do to help the club? Become a member of the club - Just $12per month. Make a donation to the club - The smallest donations matter. Volunteer to help out as a shift manager or do some maintenance around the club Ask you Family and Friends to contribute. Provide your ideas and suggestions to Board Members or attend the next Members Meeting. Join the 20x12 Club (donation of $20 per month). Write the Alano Club into your estate. Members Meeting will be held at the Club on July 11th right after the 10am AA meeting.
